Charmed

Wandering around Canal Walk the other day I did a double take walking past this store. The design is so bright and alive that I had to go in and have a look. This is only a pop-up store and it will eventually become part of  The Browns jewellers store again. The Charmed pop-up section is a huge design step away from the traditional take on jewelry store design with the opulent and luxurious feel. This is young and trendy and invites both the young and old to step inside and “wow” once you have stepped inside and looked at all the art installations on the wall you then get pulled right into the charms and … it feels like a treasure box. It is a magical place and it will be a pity if this design goes. I have pulled out my charm bracelet that I got about 20 years ago is full of fond memories and it provokes heart-filled moments in time. The charms that are available now are colourful and there is an enormous selection to choose from. Who would of thought that I would be oogling around a jewelery store … but there I was …. charmed into this magical world by brilliant store design. I spoke with the store assistant and she said that the store designer is an electrician from Stellenbosch, well done to him. I hope to see more of his design work and less of the stale conventional jewelry store designs that we have grown accustomed to.

Christmas Window Display – Cape Union Mart

Cape Union Mart has gone with a traditional Christmas window display which is always an attention grabber. Lots of work and attention has gone into this window display and into the quality of the display elements. Perhaps a bit too cluttered for my liking, but the idea and festive cheer is there.
